Mediscan operates a Gammatron 1500 gamma irradiator with a maximum capacity of 1.5MCi 60Co.

This Gammatron 1500 irradiator is designed as a tote irradiator. Products are transferred into aluminum sterilization totes and transported through the irradiation vault on a meandering path along five different levels.

Photons that are emitted during the decay of 60Co exhibit high energy levels, resulting in a high permeation capability. Therefore, this system is particularly suitable for the treatment of high-density products. Our irradiator is designed to achieve unsurpassed dose homogeneity while also being highly cost-effective.
